Indoor Environmental Experts technicians use infrared thermal imaging technology that allows hidden leaks, cracks, improper ventilation and structural damage to be discovered throughout the building. Our professional technicians have been trained to detect and find even the most remote sources of damage quickly and cost effectively. Scheduling a thermal mold inspection now could potentially save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars in repairs to your existing home or building, or one in which you are planning to buy.
Hidden Mold
Molds can be found almost anywhere; they can grow on virtually any organic substance, as long as moisture and oxygen are present. There are molds that can grow on wood, paper, carpet, foods, and insulation. When excessive moisture accumulates in buildings or on building materials, mold growth will often occur, particularly if the moisture problem remains undiscovered or un-addressed. It is impossible to eliminate all mold and mold spores in the indoor environment
When mold growth occurs in buildings, adverse health problems may be reported by some building occupants, particularly those with allergies or respiratory problems. Molds reproduce by making spores that usually cannot be seen without magnification. Mold spores waft through the indoor and outdoor air continually.
In most cases, indoor mold growth may not be obvious. Without specialized equipment it is nearly impossible to detect mold may be growing on hidden surfaces, such as the back side of dry wall, wallpaper, or paneling, the top of ceiling tiles, the underside of carpets and pads, etc. Possible locations include pipe chases and utility tunnels (with leaking or condensing pipes), walls behind furniture (where condensation forms), condensate drain pans inside air handling units, porous thermal or acoustic liners inside ductwork, or roof materials above ceiling tiles (due to roof leaks or insufficient insulation).
